Chitwan: For the jungle safari trip, Chitwan is the finest point. Chitwan which means “ heart of jungle”, the main attraction is the Chitwan National Park, one of the largest forest region in Asia teeming with wildlife such as the rare great one-horned rhinoceros,  several species of deer, sloth bear, leopard, wild boar, crocodile, more than 350 species of birds and the elusive Bengal tiger. Visitor to Chitwan may enjoy nature walks, canoe trips, local culture,  jungle trek & jeep drive  into the jungle to see more wild animals. The five hours drive to Chitwan from Kathmandu or Pokhara is filled with thrilling views of the hills & rivers with jungles on either side.

Chitwan National Park: The total area of this national park is 932 sq.km, established on 1973. One Horned Rhinoceros, leopard, sloth bear, gaur, more than 400 types of birds, and 50 types of mammals, monkeys, butterflies and Royal Bengal Tiger are the main attraction to see in this national park as well as Tharu (Local group) culture. 5 hrs drives from Pokhara or Kathmandu and 30 min flight from Kathmandu you will get there.
Introduction:
The  Chitwan National Park which stand today as successful testimony of nature conservation in South Asia. This is the first National Park of Nepal established in 1973 to preserve a unique Eco system significantly valuable to the whole world. The Park covering the protected area of 932 Sq. Km. is situated in the subtropical inner Terai lowlands of southern central part of Nepal. The Park gained much wider recognition in the world when UNESCO included this area on the list of World Heritage Site in 1984. It should also be emphasized that only a very small part of the national park is used for tourism. The great majority of the land, particularly in the hills, remains uninvited and therefore undisturbed. This is ideal for wildlife, and also preserves an element of mystery for humans; because large areas are still unexplored, our knowledge of what birds and animals the park contains is by no means finalized, and there is always the possibility of making new discoveries.
